The image size is just the measurement of the image itself. The outer size is the measurement of the entire piece of art, including the borders and frame.

You want to use the outer size when measuring your wall space, as this will be the actual space that is taken up by the artwork.

Outer size is the actual image plus any frame & the image size is just the painting or photo size with any border.
