Questions & Answers for Emerging Impression I - By: Leslie Saris

Question

Is the texture of the canvas and paint completely flat?

I'd like to know how much depth there is. You can see in the zoom mode that the original had some thick paint in some areas, thin paint in others. Has any of this depth of paint been added to enhance the picture? Or has anything been done to the canvas itself to remove the flatness of the appearance of the canvas?

What we tell people in response to this question is that these are prints so there isn’t a texture to the touch, but because we have high resolution scans of the original painting you might be able to see the texture, but not feel it.

We can offer acrylic texturing to GD customers if they ask about. I’ve actually been trying to get them to add this to the site (amongst other things) for quite some time now.

Hi Tintin-
These are prints so there isn’t a texture to the touch, but because we have high resolution scans of the original painting you might be able to see the texture, but not feel it.

The acrylic texturing is an added feature for canvas. It’s a clear acrylic coating that’s rolled on with a sea sponge, so it’s not actually brush strokes, but there is raised texture. It adds more depth and dimension to the print.

We can apply this for an additional $50.00 per image, if you want to add the texture, please indicate that you want acrylic texture in the notes.

Question

Where is the signature? I'd like to hang the long side horizontally rather than vertically.

Hi Tintin-
The signature will be in the bottom right of this print, but we can rotate the hanging system for you. If you wish to have the hanging system installed so it can hang horizontal, please indicate if you want it clockwise or counter-clockwise.
Thanks
